Won through an invited RIBA Competition, the project is for the design Master Plan for the front of house spaces at the home of English National Opera and London’s largest theatre, the Grade II* listed Coliseum.
Phase 1, the Lead-in Project, completed in the summer of 2016, opens up the front of house spaces for the 21st Century, relocating the box office, creating news bars, a lounge and a display space. The project includes temporary spaces as a way of testing out new ideas for the future development, including the design of a range of pop-up furniture and re-locatable bars.
Subsequent phases aim to create a complete theatre experience – from ‘Stage to Street and from Street to Seat’.
