The project, undertaken as an international collaboration with Bystrup Architecture and Engineering, Aecom, Cowi and DP9 is to design a new pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Thames in central London.
Following extensive consultation with the public and stakeholders, a preferred location for the new crossing has now been identified.
The new crossing offers the opportunity to connect the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area (one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects) with new and existing routes both locally and city wide; to encourage healthier travel for communities on both sides of the river; and to positively shape the riverside public realm.
